The men were found at the end of the south jetty at Barnegat Light State Park on Sunday, Aug. 18, Barnegat Light Volunteer Fire Company No. 1 said in a Facebook post. The fire company used two jetskis to respond, along with a helicopter from the U.S. Coast Guard station in Barnegat Light.

One Barnegat Light rescuer swam over to the rocks and helped the men up a jetty marker. A Coast Guard member was lowered from the helicopter to rescue the men.

One man suffered minor injuries and the other man wasn't injured.

The rescue came a few days after a person was found dead in the water at the state park. The body was discovered off the western shore of the High Bar Harbor section in Long Beach Island Township on Thursday, Aug. 15.

The Barnegat Light First Aid Squad also assisted in the rescue.
